Support Organize Grow

The busywork, off your plate.

Canon Consulting handles the research, spreadsheets, and administrative work that eats your week — so you can spend it on the parts of the business only you can do.

One-time projects from $50 · Monthly support from $150 · No contracts, cancel any month

What working together looks like

  • A 15-minute call, then a written scope and a fixed price before any work starts
  • Two rounds of revisions included on every project
  • Every number, date, and source verified before it reaches you
  • Start with one small project — no retainer, no lock-in
The problem

You know exactly which tasks keep getting pushed to the weekend.

They're rarely difficult. They're just long, repetitive, and they never make it to the top of the list — so they sit there, quietly costing you hours.

The list you never finish

Prospect and vendor research you keep meaning to do. Competitors you've been meaning to look at properly for six months.

The spreadsheet nobody trusts

Duplicates, four different phone formats, three date formats, names in ALL CAPS. Everyone works around it instead of fixing it.

The deck due Thursday

You have the content in your head and in six files. Turning it into something presentable takes an evening you don't have.

The admin tail

Meeting notes, follow-up emails, document formatting, data entry. Individually small. Collectively, most of a day each week.

What I do

Five things, done properly.

This is where most of my work sits. Document formatting, presentations, meeting summaries, and email drafting are available too — usually added on once we're already working together.

Online research

Markets, vendors, suppliers, prospects, or a topic you need to get up to speed on. Delivered as a structured report with sources, not a pile of links.

Competitor research

A clear picture of who you're up against: services, public pricing, positioning, ratings, and where the gaps are. Every figure checked against the source.

Data entry & spreadsheet organization

Getting information out of forms, PDFs, inboxes, and scattered files, and into one structured sheet you can actually use.

Excel & Google Sheets cleanup

Deduplicated, standardized, consistently formatted, and documented — with the ambiguous rows flagged for you rather than guessed at.

General administrative support

The recurring tail of small tasks — document prep, list maintenance, follow-up tracking, inbox and file organization.

Not sure which one you need?

That's normal, and it's what the first call is for. Describe your week and I'll tell you what I'd take off your plate first — or tell you honestly that I'm not the right fit.

How it works

No proposals to decode. No surprise invoices.

  1. A 15-minute call

You describe where your time is going. I tell you what I'd take on first, and what I wouldn't. If I'm not the right fit, I'll say so on that call.

  2. Scope in writing

Before anything starts, you get one email: exactly what I'm delivering, what I need from you, the turnaround date, the price, and what's out of scope.

  3. The work, with an update

On anything longer than a few days you'll get a mid-point update without having to ask for one. Messages answered within four business hours.

  4. Delivery with a summary

Not just a file. A short note on what changed, what I found, and anything I flagged rather than guessed. Two rounds of revisions included.

Why the turnaround is fast

Modern tools for the grunt work. A human for the judgment.

I use AI tools to move quickly through research gathering and first drafts. That's part of why I can turn work around fast and price it fairly.

It is not what you're buying. Everything that leaves here has been reviewed and verified by me — and the analysis, the judgment calls, and the "here's what this actually means for you" section are written by hand, because that's the part that's worth paying for.

One incorrect competitor price in a report can cost you a client. The verification pass isn't overhead — it's the product.

Before anything is sent

The check that runs on every deliverable

  • Every number, price, name, date, and rating checked against an original source
  • Every link clicked and confirmed live
  • No invented statistics, quotes, or citations — ever
  • Anything ambiguous flagged for you instead of guessed
  • Read start to finish as if I were you, before it goes out

Questions

The things people ask first.

How do I know the work will be good?

Two things. You can look at sample deliverables on the sample work page before we speak, so you know exactly what format and quality you'd get. And I'd suggest starting with one small paid project rather than anything ongoing — low risk on your side, and you judge the output rather than the pitch.

Do you use AI?

Yes — for research gathering and first drafts. It's part of why I'm fast and why my pricing is what it is. Everything is reviewed and verified by me before it reaches you, and the analysis is written by hand. You're paying for accurate, organized output, not raw AI text.

We already have an assistant.

That's common. A lot of the work I do sits alongside someone in-house: the project work that piles up — research reports, spreadsheet cleanups, deck prep — rather than the day-to-day. Easy to bring me in for a one-off when something like that comes up.

I don't have time to explain what I need.

That's the most common reason people put this off. Send me one example of the output you want and I'll work backwards from it. You shouldn't have to write instructions.

Can you do it cheaper? I've seen VAs at $5/hour.

You can, and for some tasks that's the right call. The difference here is turnaround and not having to check the work — I handle it end to end and verify everything before it reaches you. If budget is the constraint, I'd rather scope the project smaller than cut the rate.

What if I only need something once?

That's completely fine, and it's how most people start. One-time projects are quoted at a fixed price with two rounds of revisions included. There's no retainer and nothing to cancel.

How quickly do you reply?

Within four business hours, even if it's just to confirm I've got it. Standard turnaround is agreed in writing before work starts; rush turnaround under 48 hours is available at +25%.

Let's find out what's worth handing over.

Fifteen minutes, no pitch. You describe where your week goes; I tell you what I'd take on first — or that I'm not the right fit.
