Pricing

Published, so you don't have to ask.

Three ways to work together: a monthly package if the work is ongoing, a fixed price if it's a defined project, or hourly if you genuinely don't know yet. Most people start with one small project.

Monthly packages

For work that repeats.

Invoiced on the 1st, paid before the month's work begins. No contract — cancel any month. Unused hours don't roll over, so pick the tier that matches a normal month rather than your busiest one.

One-time projects

Typical ranges for defined work.

These are ranges, not quotes. The final number depends on volume, how messy the source material is, and how fast you need it — which is why I ask to see a sample before committing to a figure.

All project prices include two rounds of revisions. Rush turnaround under 48 hours is +25%.
Project Typical range What drives the number
Spreadsheet cleanup $50 – $100+ Row count, how many fields need normalising, whether duplicates need judgment to merge
Data organization $50 – $150+ Number of source files and formats, whether data has to be extracted from PDFs or forms
Competitor research $75 – $150+ Number of competitors, depth per competitor, whether pricing has to be sourced indirectly
Presentation creation $75 – $200+ Slide count, whether content exists or needs building, charts and data visuals
Customer / prospect research $100 – $200+ List size and how many fields per record need verifying
Hourly
$25/hour

For work that genuinely can't be scoped up front, or the first time we work together and neither of us is sure how long something takes. Tracked and reported honestly — if it takes less time than expected, you're billed less.

Once a task has a shape, I'll move you to a fixed price or a package. Hourly is usually the more expensive way for you to buy.

First project

Your first project is priced at the low end of the range.

Not a discount gimmick — I'd rather you judge the work than the pitch. If the first project goes well, we'll talk about ongoing support. If it doesn't, you've risked one small project.

Always included

Things I don't charge extra for.

A lot of what makes working with someone easy shouldn't be a line item.

  • Two rounds of revisions on every project, at any price point
  • Written scope confirmation before work starts — deliverable, dates, price, and what's excluded
  • A mid-point update on anything running longer than three days, without you chasing
  • A delivery summary explaining what was done and what was flagged — not a bare attachment
  • Replies within four business hours, even if it's just to confirm I've got it
  • Your original files, untouched. I always work on a duplicate

How quoting actually works

  1. You describe the task, or better, send one example of the file or the output you want.
  2. If the scope is clear, you get a fixed price on the call. If it isn't, I'll come back within 24 hours with a scope and a fixed price rather than guessing in front of you.
  3. Nothing starts until you've replied "confirmed" to a written scope. No work, no invoice, no surprises.

Payment terms

  • Under $150: invoiced on delivery, 7-day terms
  • $150 – $500: 50% up front, 50% on delivery
  • Monthly packages: invoiced on the 1st, paid before that month's work begins

Invoices are sent electronically. Card and bank transfer both accepted.

Pricing questions

Before you ask.

What if the project takes longer than you estimated?

On a fixed-price project, that's my problem, not yours — the price is the price. The only exception is if the scope itself changes, and in that case I'll come back to you with a number before doing the extra work, never after.

What happens if I go over my monthly hours?

I'll tell you as you approach the cap, not after you've blown through it. From there you can either let it wait until next month or approve additional hours at the hourly rate. You'll never get a surprise invoice.

Do unused hours roll over?

No — packages reserve capacity, so the hours are held for you whether or not they get used. If you're consistently well under your tier, tell me and I'll move you down a tier. I'd rather keep you than over-bill you.

Is there a contract or minimum term?

No minimum term. Monthly packages are month to month — tell me before the 1st and the next month simply doesn't get invoiced. Every project gets a written scope agreement, which protects both of us, but it isn't a lock-in.

Do your rates go up?

My rates for new clients will rise as the business fills up. Existing recurring clients get at least one full month's notice before any change, and the rate you start at holds for at least your first three months.

What if I'm not happy with the work?

Tell me specifically what's wrong and I'll fix it — that's what the two included revision rounds are for. If after that it still isn't what you needed, I'd rather refund you and part on good terms than argue about a $100 invoice.

Not sure which one fits?

Describe the task on a 15-minute call and I'll tell you which of the three is cheapest for you — including if that's the one that makes me the least.
